PEREGRINES RETURN TO SQUARE CHURCH SPIRE

Peregrine Falcons have returned to nest in the Square Church spire that overlooks The Piece Hall and have been spotted by visitors who have flocked to the Heritage destination over the Easter break.
The large, powerful birds have been frequent inhabitants at the spire for over ten years, returning most years to bring up their young. They can be seen circling high above The Piece Hall’s courtyard and flying in and out of the two holes just above the windows on the west side of the spire.
Local bird watcher, Andy Beattie, captured some brilliant shots of the feathered visitors. See gallery below.

Halifax Fake Festival
On Saturday 16th July 2016, I went to the Fake Festival at Manor Heath Park, Halifax to see tribute bands perform songs by Blondie, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Queen. I’d not been to anything like this before, and wasn’t sure what to expect.
I like some songs by the Chillis, and all Queen’s, but as I’ve been a big fan of Blondie since I was a lad (well, who hasn’t?), and seeing a Blondie tribute band was billed I bought my ticket on the first day of sale.
One word… WOW!
The bands were amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be attending more.
I was in two minds whether to take my camera or not, even at the last minute I was unsure to take it, but I did…

Photography Classes
I’ve completed my first photography classes for beginners
The classes were at Lee Mount Baptist Church on Wednesdays and Kings Coffee House on Saturdays for 8 weeks and were 2 and a half hours.
Reports have been coming in of how much my students enjoyed it and that they’d learned many things about their camera and how to use them to take better photographs
A lot of people have said that they did not know about the classes and would like to attend the next ones, so I have scheduled my next classes for May 2016 which will be 4 weekly classes of 5 hours held at Kings Coffee House on Saturday afternoons
